Creating a Clearer Roadmap for a Complex Platform Estate
ART gave a global B2B events business, running 660 platforms across its divisions, a data-led roadmap for simplifying them, with 53 applications identified as priorities.
The opportunity
A global B2B events business had built up 660 platforms across its divisions. Ownership was siloed, cost visibility was limited, and some systems were redundant.
Stakeholder information was fragmented too, so the business could not see clearly where to invest, what to consolidate or what to cut.
The transformation
ART ran one central assessment across the divisions, combining business analysis with programme management, and used the results to build a prioritised roadmap.
- 01
Stakeholder and ownership assessment
ART led a centralised assessment of stakeholders, operational flows and application ownership across the divisions.
- 02
Functional and financial review
ART reviewed 155 applications on both functional and financial grounds, enriched the reviews with cost data, and shared its findings through stakeholder demonstrations.
- 03
Consolidation and prioritisation roadmap
ART made consolidation recommendations and built a data-led prioritisation roadmap, identifying 53 priority applications and parking 423 for future focus.
- 04
AI opportunities
ART also identified where AI could support existing applications: 25 applications with AI opportunities, and 14 opportunities aligned with software development lifecycle use cases.
